Carol A. Burke is the Executive Vice President and Chief of Staff of the Chicago Board of Trade and also serves as General Counsel of that institution. Previously, Ms. Burke served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant General Counsel in the CBOT Legal Department, which she joined in April 1983. Before joining the Exchange, she held positions in the law firm of Baker & McKenzie in Rome, Italy and the Economic Crime Project in Chicago. She is a member of the bar in Illinois and California and has previously served as Co-Chairman of the Contracts Markets Subcommittee of the Committee on Futures and Derivatives Regulation of the American Bar Association. A native of Holyoke, Massachusetts, Ms. Burke earned a bachelor's degree from Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts, in 1973 and a Juris Doctor degree from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. in 1976.
